Maria is a digital transformation leader and product innovator who creates strategies and products for new channels and markets. She is adept at driving new business models and growth, focused on customer, user experiences, and the smart use of data to achieve broader access and product penetration. Her approach combines strategy and design thinking to challenge assumptions, define critical requirements, and bring the best out of teams. She is successful at building trusted partnerships with corporations, startups and global nonprofits.

Professional Background

She has a track record of delivering inception-to-scale innovation across 20 years of global experience with financial services, technology, and data-driven organizations including American Express, MasterCard, SAP, PwC, The NPD Group, TravelClick, and startups. She is a former VP of Information Products at Mastercard and Director of Digital Capabilities at American Express. Recent client work includes creating a virtual payments B2B partnership strategy for American Express; driving the user-centered redesign of NPD Group’s Checkout Tracking product; and clarifying transformation strategies for global servicing technology groups; and working with teams in the US, UK, and India to optimize the recruitment process, improve the candidate experience, and track and manage the internal processes and communication with third-party recruiters and candidates needed to accelerate hiring across 1000 priority technology roles for a Fortune 500 financial services company. She has also worked with YesSheCan Inc, StartupBootcamp – Fintech, and NYPAY on digital product strategies to increase inclusion in financial access, entrepreneurship, and employment.


Maria earned a BA in History and French from Vassar College and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. She holds dual US/Swiss Citizen and speaks English, French, and basic Spanish.
