Peter believes that Design, at its best, connects to people, business, and culture. It links the promise of a brand to the proof of its product. For 20 years, he‘s built diverse, world–class teams to find these intersections. Peter is a distinguished design leader with over two decades of experience in transforming brands and design teams across various industries, ranging from small startups to major tech companies.
His notable career highlights include serving as the Global Design Director for Uber for four years, where he spearheaded the 2018 rebrand and developed a new design system that facilitated the company‘s safety and accessibility efforts. Under his leadership, Peter‘s team successfully transformed all of Uber‘s product surfaces to comply with the stringent AAA accessibility standards, while enhancing customer awareness of Uber‘s safety features.
Peter established and directed the Brand Experience team at Uber, a 35–member cross–functional design team collaborating with marketing and product groups. Spearheaded the rebranding of Uber, resulting in recognition as the best rebrand of 2018 by Adweek and Brand New. Led the brand and product experiences surrounding Uber‘s IPO at the NYSE in 2019 and played a key role in the design and launch of Uber‘s first fintech product, Uber Money. His team Made substantial contributions to the improvement of Uber‘s safety communications through close collaboration with the Safety Product and Marketing teams. Directed the redesign of Uber.com, ensuring AAA accessibility across all of Uber‘s web and product interfaces. He led the development of Uber Move, a proprietary 13–language typeface, contributing to Uber‘s debut on the Best Global Brands list.
In addition to his accomplished career, Peter currently leverages his expertise in mobility and design leadership to advise prominent brands. With his in–depth knowledge and insights, he continues to be a trusted thought leader and consultant for organizations seeking to enhance their design capabilities and create impactful customer experiences.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kansas.
